The G.D.O. (Gruppo Danza
Oggi) is a cultural no-profit association which was
founded in 1978 by Patrizia Salvatori.
As regards the first twenty years (1978/1998) of its life,
it maintained the characteristics of an author company,
the Artistic Director of which is Patrizia Salvatori and
at the same time the Choreographer. The work of the first
few years of life is centered on the unification on the
stage of music and dance and the results obtained fascinate
audiences and produce great success.
From 1984 (first ministerial financial support) to 1998,
the Italian Ministry of Culture recognized the quality
of the various artistic projects submitted and worthy
of financial support.
From 1987 to 1999 the company is present at important
Events and International Festivals and is also a guest
of the very many Italian Cultural Institutes abroad, namely
Finland, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Malta, Greece,
Egypt, South Corea.
In 1998 G.D.O. turns its attention towards the new tendencies
and languages of the juvenile and metropolitan world.
That is the year of the big changes which lead to the
production of the choreographic work of Enzo Celli, leader
of the Botega Group, a project which obtains the recognition
and financial support of the Italian Cultural Ministry.
In the course of the subsequent years the attention expressed
by the press, the audiences and the Media towards this
particular group becomes stronger leading to a more and
more wide circulation within exhibitions, festivals and
events. |
